Charlie Booze Jr. of Marion, Pennsylvania is a 57 year old father of one amazing daughter, a life long automotive & engine performance enthusiast, a mechanic, and successful racer.
While in school he participated in The Cub & Boy Scouts, Band, Choir & Wrestling…..all the while learning the automotive trade at the family repair shop/used car lot, CEB Motors (est.1974)
His first car was a 1970 Mercury Cougar that was a gift from his parents. He learned a great deal about automobiles while taking it completely apart and rebuilding it. He still has that same car to this day.
He has a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. He attended Penn State University & Shippensburg University.
After high school, he pivoted to drag racing where he has spent the last 38 years building, testing, racing and winning.
Partnered with his father, mother and younger brother, they together branched out into the High Performance industry. They built a speed shop that we now know as Booze Brothers Performance. (est. 2005)
The Booze Brothers is involved in Drag & Dirt Circle Track type racing. They also focus on Muscle Car and Restored car maintenance, engine builds, differential work, chassis dyno tuning and fabrication. Pretty Much Any and All things performance and racing.
Since 1997, Charlie, along with his brother Brian, have won or helped other teams achieve as many as 2 dozen drag racing and circle track racing championships.
Charlie has won multiple titles and set ET & MPH records in the NMCA, NMRA, RAM and Fun Ford Weekend Drag Racing Series’.
In 2004, while racing with the National Mustang Racers Association Series, Charlie won every single round of drag racing that season in the highly competitive Naturally Aspirated Hot Street class. He tuned and piloted the team’s 1992 Ford Mustang GT round after round and race after race, winning and setting milestone records of ET & MPH along the way. The team’s success was achieved by many hours of hard work, testing, successful networking skills and one very important partnership that they formed with the late great Jim Kuntz of Kuntz & Company racing engines, Arkadelphia, AR.
Charlie raced with Jim Kuntz for most of his drag racing career. He learned a lot and they enjoyed a lot of success together.
Charlie’s drag racing focus shifted in recent history to sealed Coyote Crate engines in the fiercely competitive NMRA Coyote Stock class. Charlie, partnered with long time friend and fellow mechanic and business owner, Scott Milhimes of Milhimes Automotive. Together they scored over a dozen race victories and most recently won the 2022 & 2024 NMRA Coyote Stock Points Championships losing only one round in each of those 2 seasons.
Charlie has been a big Ford advocate for most of his existence and recently has taken a serious look and plunge into Ford Motor Company’s most current platform, the 7.3L Godzilla pushrod V-8 engine.
Charlie has been in constant pursuit of finding power, performance and success in whatever he turns his focus toward.
He has learned many lessons in his performance life…..
- Focus on yourself & your team first and foremost.
- They can’t beat you if they aren’t willing to outwork you.
- ELD – Every Last Detail.
- The 5 P’s – Proper Preparation Prevents Poor Performances.
- You can’t win a race you can’t finish.
- A man has got to know his limitations.
